Bio: Professor
Igor Pioro Doctor of Technical Sciences (1992), Professional Engineer
(Ontario, Canada) (2008), Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers (2012), Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers (2015), and
Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) (2013), Foreign Fellow of the National
Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is an internationally recognized scientist
within areas of thermal and nuclear engineering (thermalhydraulics of
supercritical fluids, Generation-IV nuclear-reactor concepts, etc.) and thermal
sciences/engineering (boiling, forced convection including supercritical
pressures, etc.). He is author/co-author of more than 480 publications: 11
technical books, 28 chapters in encyclopedias, handbooks and books, 96 papers
in refereed journals, 273 papers in refereed proceedings of international and
national conferences and symposiums, 26 patents and inventions, and 46 major
technical reports.
Dr. Pioro is the Founding Editor of the
ASME Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Science. He was a Chair of
the Executive Committee of the Nuclear Engineering Division of the ASME
(2011-2012) and a Chair of the International Conference on Nuclear Engineering
(ICONE-20) (2011-2012).
Professor Pioro has received many
international and national awards and certificates of appreciation including a
Harold A. Smith Outstanding Contribution Award from CNS (2017), Medal 60th
Anniversary of NED (Nuclear Engineering Division of ASME) (2016); Service
Recognition Award from the ASME (2014); an Honorary Doctor’s Degree from the
National Technical University of Ukraine “Kiev Polytechnic Institute” (2013);
The CNS Education and Communication Award (2011); The UOIT Research Excellence
Award (2011); the ICONE Award from the ASME (2009); etc.

Hiroshi Yamaguchi is a Fellow of The Engineering Academy of Japan and also the
Chief Scientist/Induastrial Technical Director of Zhongnengling Carbon
(Beijing) Technplogy Co., LTD. He obtained his Ph.D from University of
Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, U.K. in
1982. He is a Professor Emeritus of Energy Conversion Research Center, Doshisha
University, Kyoto, Japan. His areas of expertise include Experimental and
Computational Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Engineering, Involving Basic Study and
Applications for Supercritical CO2 Flow, Solar Energy Conversion,
Ultra-Low-Temperature Refrigeration, Non-Newtonian and Viscoelastic fluids and
Magnetic Fluids and Functional Fluid,He has authored over 150 articles in the
leading international journals and chapters in books and edited journals.

Bio: Dr.
Subbaraman is presently Institute Fellow and Project Development Director at
GTI Energy. In this role, he shapes opportunities and customer interests in
clean hydrogen production technologies, steam- and power generation
technologies such as the sCO2 power conversion cycle, and in Central and
distributed low-carbon power with alternate energy carriers (e.g., hydrogen,
ammonia). His latest responsibility is directing GTI Energy’s role in the
Appalachian Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub (ARCH2), a 10-year program sponsored by
the U.S. Department of Energy. He has undergraduate and master’s degrees in
Metallurgy and Material Engineering, and a doctorate in Nuclear Science and
Engineering from Virginia Tech., USA. He serves as Courtesy Professor in the
University of Central Florida and as University Distinguished Visiting
Professor in PSG Institutions, India where he has initiated and conducted the
first Global Conference on Decarbonizing India (GCDI), December 2023.

Jinliang Xu is the Director of Key Laboratory of Power Station Energy
Transfer Conversion and System of Ministry of Education, China. He was the
Dean of School of Energy Power and Mechanical Engineering and the School
of Renewable Energy, North China Electric Power University, in the period
of 2010-2020. His research interest includes multiphase flow and heat
transfer in micro/nano systems, advanced power generation system, low grade
energy and renewable energy utilization. He published more than 300 journal
papers such as Physics Reports-Review, Small, Nano Letters, Nano Energy, Int J.
of Multiphase Flow, etc. He has been the chair of 5 international
conferences and presented 50 plenary /keynote speeches. He received the Natural
Science Award of the Ministry of Education, China (first grade). He was
"973" project chief scientist, Ministry of Science and was named as
the "Yangtze River Scholar" Professor by the National Ministry of
education, China.

Yanping, researcher, doctoral supervisor. Currently serving as deputy director
and chief engineer of Reactor Engineering Institute of China Nuclear Power
Research Institute, CNNC, director of the Key Laboratory of Thermal Hydraulic
Technology of Nuclear Reactors, chairman of the Nuclear Reactor Thermal Fluid
Mechanics Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society, and leader of nuclear reactor
thermal and fluid mechanics technology of CNNC. He is mainly engaged in the
research of basic theory of thermal hydraulics of nuclear reactors and
supercritical carbon dioxide power conversion technology. He has published more
than 220 papers, 9 Chinese monographs, and 3 translations.

Hongzhi Li is the chief expert at Xi’an Thermal Power Research Institute Co.,
Ltd. He is a Professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University and co-appointed by the
Ministry of Education's Yangtze River Scholar program. He is the leader of both
the Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Team and the first
batch of science and technology innovation teams at China Huaneng Group Co.,
Ltd. He is involved in supercritical fluids advanced power
conversion cycles and energy storage technologies. He was in
charge of over 20 research projects, including National Key R&D Program,
National Natural Science Foundation of China and innovation capability-building
initiatives by the National Development and Reform Commission. He was in
charge of the development and deployment of first
pilot 5MW SMART (Supercritical CO2 Modular
Advanced Research and Test) fossil-fired power
system that safely operated for more
than 2000 hours. His contributions have been recognized
through over 10 provincial and ministerial-level remarkable awards,
including the First Prize of Electric Power Science and Technology Progress
Award, China Patent Excellence Award, Second Prize of Shaanxi Provincial
Science and Technology Progress Award, and Shaanxi Youth Science and Technology
Award, etc.

Beysens is Honorary Director of Researches at the PMMH
laboratory, a joint laboratory of CNRS and ESPCI–PSL. He is President - founder
of the OPUR International Organization, was President of ELGRA and Head of
Institute at CEA. His area of expertise is phase transition: In
space, to improve the management of fluids, with emphasis on near and
supercritical conditions, and on earth, to obtain water from the air. He is
Associate Editor of several scientific journals and has
authored or co-authored 14 books (two with awards) and 500 publications.
He was granted various prices and honors in Physics and Environmental Sciences.

Lin Chen, full professor and director deputy of Heat and Mass Transfer Research
Center in the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of
Sciences. His research topics include supercritical fluids and CO2 cycles,
energy resources, advanced measurement technologies. He has authored around 300
well-cited papers, 20 patents, 4 books, including the most famous one on
Supercritical Fluids Applications for Sustainable Energy Systems (IGI Global,
2021, 821 pages). He was winner of YSA-AUTSE (2018) and VSJ Award (2022), and
within the World TOP 2% Scientists 2023 (Elsevier).
