Bio: Tian Hua, Professor, Deputy Director of Guozhong, National Outstanding Youth, and Head of National Key R&D Projects. Research direction: CO2 working fluid power cycle waste heat recovery, refrigeration cycle ice making research, published more than 120 first/communication SCI papers, authorized 23 invention patents, won the National Natural Science Second Prize (2nd), Ministry of Education Science and Technology Youth Science Award, Engineering Thermophysics Society Wu Zhonghua Excellent Young Scholar Award, etc.

 

 

 

Prof. Hui Jin

Xi’an Jiaotong University, China

Title: Cascade Utilization of Chemical Component in Biomass with Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

 

Bio: Prof. Jin Hui is professor in Xi’an Jiaotong University. His research interest focuses on transcritical multiphase reacting flow, such as coal gasification in supercritical water, or high value utilization of waste biomass/plastic with supercritical carbon dioxide. He is the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in National Natural Science Foundation of China, the winner of "Chung-Hua Wu Outstanding Young Scholar Award", the winner of Particuology Young Scholar Award issue by Chinese Society of Particuology. He was awarded first prize by science and technology award in Shaanxi province (ranking 3rd), and the top 10 scientific and technological progress of Chinese universities (ranking 3rd). He has published more than 100 first/corresponding author SCI papers with more than 9000 citations with H-index 55, 19 papers were indexed as ESI paper, and 4 papers were indexed as hot papers. Dr. Jin also has public or authorized 50 patents and 22 software copyrights.

Bio: Dr. Keyong Cheng is a senior engineer of Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IET, CAS). His Research Interest includes the Design and Optimization of Compact Heat Exchanger, Blade Cooling of Gas Turbines, Thermal Management of Electronics. He has led/joint the National Natural Science Foundations of China, the National Key R&D Program of China, and the National Science and Technology Major Program of China. He published more than 20 Journal papers on the Applied Thermal Engineering, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, and so on.,

 

 

 

Prof. Weiqing Yang

Southwest Jiaotong University, China

Title: Supercritical Etching of MXene and Its Multifunctional Integration&Applications of Energy-Information All-in-one micro-Devices

 

Bio: Prof. Weiqing Yang, Dean of the Institute for Advanced Research in Frontier Science at Southwest Jiaotong University, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering. His research primarily focuses on the fundamental applications of nanomaterials for energy and functional devices. In recent years, he has published over 260 SCI-indexed papers in international journals such as Nature, Adv. Mater., ACS Nano, and Nano Lett., with 25 highly cited papers according to ESI, accumulating over 16,000 citations. He has been recognized as a highly cited researcher by Clarivate Analytics for multiple consecutive years. Yang has led numerous provincial and ministerial-level projects including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Education's Innovation Team, JWKJW Key Projects, and Sichuan Province Innovation Teams. He serves as an expert reviewer for the Ministry of Science and Technology's major R&D programs and the National Science and Technology Awards. Additionally, he has applied for over 40 patents (24 granted) and has facilitated the commercialization of more than 20 patents, with direct transfer funds exceeding 30 million RMB

Title: Short-term Supercritical Heat Transfer: in Memory of Anneke Levelt Sengers

 

Bio: Pavel Skripov, professor in Thermophysics, Works at the Institute of Thermal Physics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 1977 to the present. The author (co-author) of about 200 publications, including more than 100 journal articles. Member of the National Committee for Thermophysical Properties since 2018. Seminar leader "Thermophysical Seminar of Professor P.V. Skripov". The author of the idea of controlling the power of heat release in a fast-acting heater, which opened up the possibility of a detailed study of the properties of superheated liquids, as well as supercritical fluids in a wide range of pressure and temperature.

Title: Dimensionless Numbers for Analysing Fluid-dynamic Stability and Heat Transfer at Supercritical Pressures

 

Bio: Dr. Walter Ambrosini is Full Professor in Nuclear Plants at the University of Pisa, Italy. His Research interests involve the field of Nuclear Reactor Thermal-hydraulics: Heat and mass transfer, System code use and development for safety analyses of nuclear reactors, Flow stability, Heat transfer to fluids at supercritical pressure, CFD and numerical modelling of thermal-hydraulic systems. His teaching activities include: Computational Thermal Fluid-dynamics, Single and two-phase thermal-hydraulics, Numerical methods for nuclear reactors, Nuclear Safety. He has been President of the Research Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering in Pisa (2008-2016), President of the MSc in Nuclear Engineering in Pisa (2011-2018), President of the European Nuclear Education Network (2013-2016), Member of the ASN Commission for Energetics and Nuclear Engineering (2018-2021), Present Member of the CDs of CIRTEN and of the Associazione Italiana Nucleare (AIN). Prof. Sakir Amiroudine

Title: Some Unusual Phenomena of the Hydrodynamics in Supercritical Fluids

 

Bio: Prof. Sakir Amiroudine is a full professor at the University of Bordeaux (France) with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. His research activities concern theoretical and numerical analyses of fluid mechanics problems and associated hydrodynamic instabilities. He is now the Director of an International Research Network (IRN) project through CNRS and Deputy Director of the Doctoral School in Sciences and Engineering (around 300 PhD students). He published more than 70 academic papers in relevant fields and 2 books in Fluid Mechanics and Finite Volume Methods.

Bio: Jeong Ik Lee is a professor of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering department in KAIST. He has been leading the development of the S-CO2 cycle in Korea.

 

 

 

Prof. Hongliang Ming

Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China

Title: Effect of Solution Annealing and Al Addition on the Corrosion Behavior of Austenitic Stainless Steel in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide at High Temperature

 

Bio: Dr. Hongliang Ming earned his Ph.D. from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Institute of Metal Research, IMR) in 2017. He became an associate research fellow in 2019 and also the associate supervisor of doctoral students of USTC. He holds more than 20 Chinese patents and has published more than 60 papers in Corrosion Science, Scripta Materialia and Journal of Nuclear materials, etc. He has drafted 8 group standards of Chinese Nuclear Society and he is the director for more than 15 projects. He is now the deputy secretary-general of Liaoning Society of Corrosion and Protection. Among his various awards and honors are the "Young Talents" of China National Nuclear Corpor, , , ation LTD in 2021, and the election of T, alents Project of Liaoning Province in 2020.

 

 

 

Prof. Atsuki Komiya

Tohoku University, Japan

Title: Measurement of Diffusion Coefficients in Highly Pressurized CO2 using the DPDVA Method

 

Bio: Prof. Atsuki Komiya is head of Heat Transfer Control Laboratory in the Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University, Japan. He received the PhD in mechanical engineering in Tohoku University in 2002. From 2002 to 2004, he was a Research Fellow with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). In 2004, he moved to the Tohoku University as an Assistant Professor. Since 2019, he has been a Professor of Tohoku University.  He  is  the  author  of  two  books,  150  refereed  papers  and  more  than  2800  citations. Professor Komiya’s awards and honors include the Young Researcher Award and Scientific Contribution Award of the Heat Transfer Society of Japan, and the Young Scientists’ Prize of the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

 

 

 

Prof.Shuisheng He

University of Sheffield, UK

Title: Numerical Simulation of Heat Transfer to Fluids at Supercritical Pressure

 

Bio: Prof. Shuisheng He is a Chair and Research Leader in Thermofluids in Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Sheffield, UK. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). He received his BSc and MSc from Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST) in China and his PhD from University of Manchester. Professor He’s current research focuses on non-equilibrium turbulence, convective heat transfer and nuclear thermal hydraulics. His group has developed a number of CFD codes and modelling methodologies, including an open-source DNS code CHAPSim, and a coarse-grid CFD modelling approach. Professor He is Leader of the UK Fluid Network Special Interest Group (SIG NTH) and Chair of the EPSRC Collaborative Computational Project (CCP NTH) in Nuclear Thermal Hydraulics.

 

 

 

Prof. Dedong Hu

Qingdao University of Science and Technology, China

Title: Development of silicon carbide Zigzag-channel printed circuit plate heat exchanger

 

Bio: Prof. Dedong Hu is a Chair and Research Leader in Supercritical fluid technology in School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Qingdao University of Science and Technology. He is a member of the Supercritical Fluid Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society. He received his BSc from Sichuan University and his MSc and PhD from Shandong University. Professor Hu’s current research focuses on supercritical fluid technology and equipmentdevelopment. His group has developed a number of supercritical fluid technology and equipment, including supercritical carbon dioxide dying, extraction, cleaning, spraying, heat exchanging, and so on. Professor Hu is Leader of the Supercritical Fluid Technology R&D Team in Qingdao University of Science and Technology(QUST).

 

 

 

Prof. Yuanshen Lu

University of Queensland, Australia

Title: The Current Development and Future Opportunities of Supercritical CO2 Power Cycle Technology in Australia

Bio: Dr Yuanshen Lu is an Amplify Fellow and lecturer in mechanical engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. He is a recipient of ARC Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) and the Deputy Director of Centre for Multiscale Energy Systems (CMES) at UQ. His current research interests are energy conversion, heat transfer and management applied in conventional and renewable energy systems, , as well as fundamental thermo-fluids. Dr Lu has over 30 publications with a total citation of near 1000 and secured over 1.3M AUD research funding in thermo-fluids as a Lead CI or CI.

Bio: Mr. Zhiyuan Liang is an associate professor in the school of Energy and Power Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University. His research interests focus on the corrosion damage diagnosis, corrosion mechanism, and early failure warning of energy equipment. He has published more than 50 papers, obtained 20 patents and won the National Science and Technology Progress Award (5th)

Prof. Richard Lee Smith Jr.

Tohoku University, Japan

Title: Properties of Supercritical Fluids for Green Energy and Chemical Processes

 

Bio: Richard Smith obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1985 from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, U.S.A. He is Professor at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies in the GP-RSS Program at Tohoku University since 2002. He has published over 300 papers in peer-review journals related to physical properties, green chemistry, supercritical fluids and hydrothermal and solvothermal processing.  He is a Fellow of the Society of Chemical Engineers of Japan and the Asia Regional Editor for the Journal of Supercritical Fluids.

 

 

 

Prof. Jian Xie

North China Electric Power University, China

Title: Pseudo-boiling Heat Transfer of Supercritical CO2 in Horizontal Tube

 

Bio: Dr. Jian Xie is associate professor from North China Electric Power University. He is the leader of the innovation team of advanced power generation system. His research interest includes heat transfer of multiphase flow and supercritical fluid, advanced power cycle and low grade energy utilization. He published more than 50 papers and obtained 15 granted patents, amony which the pahse separation heat transfer exchanger won the excellent product award in China Hi-tech Fair. Due to contributions on mechanism and modulation method of phase change h, eat transfer, Dr. Jian Xie won the Chen Xuejun outstanding paper award for young scholars, IAAM Scientist Award from international association of advanced materials, and Young Elite Scientists sponsorship program by BAST. He is also the editorial board member of member of Journal of Thermal Science, Carbon Neutrality, Journal of Clean Energy Science and Technology, etc.

Title: Thermodynamic Behavior of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Confined in the Finite-size Media

 

Bio: Prof. I.M. Abdulagatov is the Chief of the Thermophysical Properties Division of the Geothermal and Renewable Energy Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (full time) and Chief of the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Dagestan State University (part time). His research interest includes experimental study and modelling (equation of state) of the thermodynamic and transport properties of fluids and fluid mixtures at high-temperatures and high-pressures including the critical and supercritical regions. He published about 600 papers and obtained about 10 awards. He was the editorial board member of Russian J. Supercritical Fluids; Liquids; and Guest Editor of the Special Issues of the International Journals.

Bio: Prof. Jiangfeng Guo is currently a professor at the College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology. He once was employed at Imperial College London and Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Technology. His research interests include heat transfer and flow characteristics of supercritical fluid, research and development of efficient heat exchangers, etc. He has published more than 100 academic papers, has been awarded the Marie Curie Fellowship by the European Union, and has been listed in the ‘world's top 2% of top scientists’ several times

 

 

 

Prof. Zhentao Zhang 

Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, China

Title: Progress in Research and Application of Carbon Dioxide Energy Storage Technology

 

Bio: Zhang Zhentao, member of the , 14th CPPCC National Committee, researcher of the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, key technical talent of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and chief scientist of the 13th Five Year National Key Research and Development Project. He mainly engages in research on carbon dioxide utilization, new refrigeration and heat pump technologies. Prof. Dipankar Narayan Basu

Title: Supercritical Natural Circulation Loop: Static and Dynamic Stability Characteristics

 

Bio: Dr. Dipankar N Basu is presently an Associate Professor in the department of Mechanical Engg. at IIT Guwahati. He is an alumnus of Jadavpur University, Kolkata and IIT Kharagpur, and served IIEST Shibpur for four years as an Assistant Professor, before joining IIT Guwahati. His major research interests involve multiphase flows with phase change, supercritical heat transport systems and nuclear thermalhydraulics. He is also actively working on the development of a highly-efficient and versatile simulation framework to explore multiphase flows using the lattice Boltzmann method. He has guided 9 doctoral and 27 Masters' thesis till date, and has more than hundred publications in international journals & conference proceedings.
